I have some sympathy with Russia when you have US Senators meddling

and sending letters to FIFA asking for the tournament to be stripped from Russia / Blatter to resign because of the Crimea/Ukraine events.

I doubt very much that the FBI would have been that bothered about all of this were it not for the current state of US-Russia relations.
