We're in a group of twenty or so clubs that sit about 16-35 in the football pyramid

And at various points in time we'll be above /below our peers.

Very rarely does a club break out of it (barring huge financial injection). Even the latest club, Southampton, who have made a dash for the barbed wire divide between the two groups, are in danger of being unceremoniously frogmarched back.

Only clubs like Blackpool, possibly Burnley have broken the mould recently.

I guess it's a long winded way if saying, 'don't get ideas above our station'.
