what terminology would you prefer then?

Maybe it doesn't bother you personally, but people claiming for disibilities that they don't have / don't do anything about makes my wife's life harder as it tars everyone with the same brush and she has to fight harder for recognition of her conditions.

As you must surely know, it's too easy for people to dismiss mental health issues as no-one else can see them (vis-a-vis someone in a wheelchair), and people milking that fact in order to play the sympathy card at work/obtain benefits only makes life harder for thsoe with genuine problems.
