Grounds want people spending their money, mainly in the bars, for as much of the five allocated days as they can draw them in for. Same in horse racing - six meetings on Fridays and Saturdays this time of year when the drinkers are out and two on a Sunday which is still traditionally the day when more people are off work than any other day, but it's a family day and not a drinkers day so the courses don't want to know.
