Yep, his 'appeal' is also his downfall in this situation. Keown got it, Pearce didn't.

Not really a huge issue and don't need to beat Pearce with it. It'll be the first time anything like that's ever happened to him, and as Jim says, he is compelled to say something immediately and give an instant opinion. Keown doesn't have to for a few seconds.

The time to slate Pearce will be if he's presented with a similar situation later in his career, and he does the same thing.
