Some exciting and encouraging signs but then also some fairly obvious flaws/problems that Hodgson just did not really address and which ultimately cost us, namely sitting off them in midfield and not picking up their right sided midfielder for the entire match.
We looked good when we attacked them with pace and purpose and the front 4 ran at people but then when we needed a goal to equalise we took off Welbeck and then Sturridge and resorted to playing at walking pace in front of their defence (who admittedly had all sat back by then). That said we should have equalised and 2-2 would have been a fair result.
Would really like to see Oxlade Chamberlin or Berkley starting the next game, possibly ahead of Rooney which is something I never thought I would say.
