this is true but a bit meaningless really - fans tend to have a very one-sided view of incidents coloured by their support, and their opinions aren't really to be trusted. If you check fans forums after games you'll see in well over 90% of cases loads of posts by fans convinced that the ref was biased against them (in most games you'll probably find that large numbers of fans of BOTH teams will be convinced they got the short straw decisions wise).
As someone who wanted Croatia to win last night but wasn't as fanatical about as I am when City were playing, I thought only the penalty decision was blatantly wrong (the others were 50-50 iffy things at best)
