And most of his article is bollocks, reflecting relationships between Scotland and England and their hatred of what they see as our arrogance.
However, in the main English supporters are just desperate for us to do well. Hope not expectation - and it is not unreasonable to think that we have a chance of doing ok fropm time to time.
We build up our hope, we collapse when we fail. That's football!!
As for our chances generally, well we've been very poor in the last two World Cups. However in 2002 we were one of the better sides in the competition - certainly better than Germany who reached the final thanks to a QF against USA and an SF against South Korea.
We knocked Argentina out, holders France went out early too and Italy/Spain lost to the Koreans.
30 years of hurt was a song for f**ks sake - and it's hardly arrogant to suggest that we've been failures for decades is it?
I hated the England team of 2010 but I'm not just going to give up. We have some decent young players who come across well, a manager who is a decent man and the most unlikeable players no longer involved.
No-one in this country *has* to love the team or be desperate for them to do well, but for you to cite the trollbait ramblings of a Scot as some kind of justification for your hatred of the England team (now neatly joined by your dislike of Norwich City, not far behind your dislike of the Olympics), is (not for the first time, let's face it) just plain weird.
However - when England are playing... any chance you could turn it in? Tensions will be heighetend and you don't care. That's fine. But can you just. Please. Turn it in?
