Phrankin makes a good point, no point blowing all the money on one player if we then can't strengthen elsewhere. But if we can afford him and have more money to spare, I would love it if we did go for him. In my opinion he'd be the closest thing to Dead Ashton since he left - good target man, decent with both feet, good skill on the ball, a little change of pace when he needs it, and a deadly finisher from the 6 yard box or outside the area, and his best years ahead of him.

Only thing is, I think it would take a record breaking bid to get him. They paid ?8m for him when he was in League One, and with three years left on his contract I'm sure they'll want over ?10m back. So, all things considered, no chance.
