give you leeway of 10% + 2mph above the limit before they prosecute so:
35mph in a OK, 36mph you get done
all the way up to:
79mph in a 70 OK, 80mph you get done
In Scotland these are known as the Lord Advocates Guidelines and as Road Traffic Law is common to the whole UK, I would be surprised if it were different to this in England & wales.
