Obviously any manager is a risk and I think all any Board can do is try to minimise that risk. Someone mentioned Eddie Howe a few days back and no doubt he's done a good job at Bournemouth but it didn't work out at Burnley. Trouble I have with Malky is that he's currently a 'vogue' manager. A bit like Boothroyd a few seasons back where suddenly he became the next best manager. It's happened in the past with Chris Coleman and Ian Dowie who had a season of over achievement but then it went downhill. For me Malky falls into the category. His track record is short and he didn't exactly set the world alight whilst at Watford. Of course he could be the next Alex Ferguson and if he's appointed then I'd love to be wrong but I think we need a manager with a proven record over a period of a number of seasons.
