It really doesn't suggest that at all.

Last year we were goal difference away from finishing in the top half, thanks to our unusual reliance on set piece goals.

This year, however you want to shake it up, we *are* still one of the worst teams for open play goals. Being slightly better than three teams who will finish above us proves or indicates nothing about our cautiousness or otherwise.

If you had some statistic that shows how unlucky we've been (shots on target, woodwork, possession, territory etc) then fine.

Booting the ball in the River End means nothing.
