the stats illustrate the rather more obvious point that we have had enough opportunities to stay up easily if we had executed properly on the pitch (not briloliantly, just competently would have done). Not just the missed chances but those individual defensive f** ups - Tettey's against Chelsea, Bassong's against Swansea (and his daft penalty given away against Stoke). Even little things like Olsson's slip that cost us that game against Baggies here.
Obvioulsy we have had things in our favour too (Baggies missed a ton of chances in the game we won there, and the was Jaskelaiinen's cock up for West Ham here) but the balance overall does seem quite lopsided against us.
Truth be told, in a league of such tight margins as this that is probably OFTEN the difference between sh*t teams that get relegated and sh*t teams that happen to stay up.
