it's all about opinion though - what's the best way to try to score while also not conceding? Different managers would have different ways to do that.
I think if it had been *me* on the sidelines I'd have brought on Fer for Johnson and maybe Hooper for Whittaker.
But he clearly thought keeping it tight and trying to break with Redmond/Snodgrass was a better way of not conceding = definitely down, and trying to score. And as it was Redmond who set Snod away for a great chance, I'm not going to say he was definitely wrong.
