Why does everyone go on about looming forward to Brentford because of the four pubs?

(Not singling you out Jacksons Twelfth - you just reminded me that I was going to say it the other day).

In reality - aren't they just all going to be rammed with fans - mostly home fans, like any other pub within half a mile of a football ground? Why does everyone slavishly say "ooh, four pubs - nice"? Even if you're a pub goer pre-match, 99% of those would only go to one pub anyway. And if you're a proper pub lover, you'd find a quieter one that isn't so close to the ground anyway, in the hope that they might still serve your a drink in a glass...
