PM: Admckwhatever - re iTunes

I had that with my partners iPod Classic. Her PC recognised it but iTunes didn't and froze. I spent 2 rainy Sundays doing the billion things and uninstalling and re-installing f**king everything, suggested on the tinternet and Apple forum to no avail. Was about to bin said ?180s worth of relatively new iPop when I thought - "I wonder if it will work on another PC". Took it to work and plugged it to my works PC, ching - PC and iTunes saw it straight away and it synched some music. Took it back to her's and plugged it into her laptop again and, guess what, worked fine.
No idea what was wrong. Think it just got it's knickers in a twist and me plugging it into another PC gave it the IT equivalent of a kick up the arse.
Touch wood, no problems since.
