Too many factors can affect performance and results. Even the best man managers, motivators, tacticians, talent spotters and wheeler-dealers don't get it all their own way all the time. With all the pressure, expectation and exposure, it's virtually an impossible job, certainly nigh on impossible to view with long term plans. Who'd be a manager these days? No wonder most ex pros bottle it and head for the studio. Streaming's made that even easier as there's now a British market for all kinds of foreign sports channels (and conversely a foreign market with an interest in our game creating the demand for the channel in the first place).
