Plenty have. The subjectivity of perception of the passage of time

is a rich area for research. I was listening to an Infinite Monkey Cage where that came up just last week (an old one).

Imagine: if emotional state, stress, adrenaline and all that really does make a person's perception of time alter, could one artificially induce such a state, so that one could get more stuff done, mentally, in the time available.

However, the researchers I heard were quite sceptical about that, suggesting that the perception of time passing slowly in times of stress were just a trick of memory recall, rather than the brain "going up a gear" to cope with more stuff at times of difficulty.

Still, a watched pot never boil, hentut. Until that dew.

Fascinating stuff really.
