I went to cubs once when I was about 8.

Nobody saluted the flag, nobody in a uniform had more than 3 badges, a teenage girl with braces on her teeth was in charge and she lit the camp fire with petrol siphoned from a land rover. A lad broke his leg playing something called shinty and after a 1 hour game of hide and seek time was called. I learnt enough not to go back. 2nd Hellesdon scout gruppe, a great bunch of lads (& teenage girl)
