Too young to have gone to games in the 80s, but...

...one I remember being pretty squished in a 'this could've been managed much better' kind of way was Colchester Utd Sa31/3/07 (lost 3-0), which I think was our first game back at Layer Road for some considerable time, though there was only 1,019 of us in an attendance of 5,851. I remember thinking that was more to do with a stubborn selfishness amongst those trying to hold their ground close to the goal and not move down to the ends to spread out, despite being asked by the stewards.

Also bad, but not to the same degree due to it being a bigger stand, was Brentford on Tu18/8/09 (2-1 defeat, Owain Tudor Jones scoring for us). 1,850 away fans in a 7,395 crowd. Lambert was on a watching brief for that game, coming as it did after a couple of games in the west country, so an evening kick off in the capital at the start of an exciting new era and probably the first chance a lot had to get back on an old school terrace if they hadn't/couldn't get to the long away trips prior. Was a nightmare trying to move about in that one or to get back onto the terrace from behind the stands at half time.
