Well written.
I've seen those posts about Hillsborough but have yet to wade into them, now I will will trepidation of wind up merchants etc. Mind you, with the convos about the Wrath that I have got involved with tonight, I shouldn't be surprised.
I was approaching 10 at the time (so a similar age to yourself), though was yet to fully emerse myself in City colours (just considered myself an England fan back then, with no club allegiance). But as you say, I didn't need to be as empathetic as I naturally am to feel for those involved. Plus I never doubted where the blame truly lied. But I haven't read the reports etc as I don't want to upset myself or have another excuse to get angry. But then I'm not trolling on the subject, so I don't need to. I've tried to seperate general displeasure with Liverpool fans/the club/the media love-in etc with respectful distance from their tragedy. And as you say, there but for the grace... - I remember being quite tearful standing in that stand for the silence on the 17th anniversary ahead of our 1-0 defeat to Wednesday on Sa15/04/06 alongside 2,291 other City fans who as you say, could've been mourners or goners if the draw had been switched.
