to advise between a tablet or a laptop depends on what you need it for / what you'd use it for?

For that sort of money you could get an xbox one or ps4. What about a tv, for ?500 nowadays, you can get a very decent tv - or a bigger tv for the bedroom? If you have a decent tv, perhaps some top quality speakers for it.
