Yes he has, I'm an outer now, but ....

10 clean sheets would suggest that he has, that's a minimum of 8 points we probably wouldn't have got under Lambert (2 clean sheets, I believe in his last season with us).
Clean sheets mean points - losing 1:0 or 7:0 makes no odds.

So, regardless of your views on Hughton (and I think he needs to go), the defence is more effective at gaining points,
