we don't take the cups any less seriously than anyone else though

if you check smaller Prem teams that have done well in cups recently (Swansea, Wigan last year and Hull this year) you'll find they played weakened teams in the early rounds just like us. Their backups just happened to get them through to the point where they felt able to start taking it seriously (usually about the quarter finals).
