One incident on Sat summed up the whole Hootun ethos for me.....

about two minutes to go, we were pressing hard and looking the most likely to nick the three points. Redmond's cross had just gone behind Wolf and Pilks.

We got a corner and Yobo was making his way forward only to be told by Hoot to stay back!!!!! The TV commentators even picked it out and said Hoot was "not being bold".

Now I know, one point is better than none, but just for once, shouldn't we have gone for the win?

Regardless of the rights and wrongs of that particular situation, that one event showed Hootun's whole footballing ethos in glorious technicolour.

I know it was a good result and a good performance, but we parked the bus for most of the game - 2nd half especially. Hoot needs to realize that we aren't going to get enough 0-0 draws to stay up and we need to show some ambition to win a few matches as and when the opportunity arises, such as on Sat when our illustrious opposition did not play to their usual high standards. This is why I fear for our season - because he shows absolutely no sign of being willing or able to take a risk to get the results that we need.

With Captain Cautious as our manager, we can only look forward to more of the same I'm afraid!
