He (Benedict Cumberbatch) WAS Khan. Just a different version of the character, although actually very closely linked the the original series version of the character rather than the re-encountered big screen Wrath Of Khan version. Did you see the reboot Star Trek? Its the best reboot thing I think I've ever seen! Time-travel as a device to reboot a series without completely destroying everything that went before is pretty genius. What happened did happen and now this is happening. Brilliant.
