If the club had shown more decision in the premier then we would not be in this situation. It was almost as if we had no plan on what we would do if we were promoted. The club could either have gone for it, took risks , spent money to try to attain mid table status or build a team that if we got relegated would stay together, work together and would get promoted together. Instead we done neither, we dismantled a established championship winning side, replaced it with players who would not be able to stay if we got relegated but were also not quite good enough for the premier. The result .. on relegation these players were shipped out for varying reasons , we then replaced with a core of at best average championship players, and lo and behold we now have an average championship side. Whose fault is this ? The manager? The board? Both?
Ultimately i fear we are in for a long period of rebuilding when we should be concentrating on consolidation for the premier next season.
Ho Hum.
