Depends where you're coming from though...

...for me (and a helluva lot of others) getting the actual degree is only half the reason we choose to go into higher education.

IMHO, you don't just learn about your chosen subject, you take in all sorts of stuff. In today's climate, I think the more who go through uni the better.
