You misunderstand?

I said that the players we brought in have not improved on the squad we already had. Given the club have been waffling on about doing a Charlton for the last 5 years; we should have been looking to build on what we had.

In the summer we should have been looking to buy good quality Championship players. Instead we bought very average Championship players that offer no improvement on where we were at the end of the promotion season.
