At last, some fighting spirit!

After another horrendous opening spell yesterday the team played as well as i have seen them for some time. At half time I felt the game was there to be won as Coventry are, in truth, a very, very poor team. Unfortunately we could not turn our superiority into enough goals however the spirit was there and means that our outside chance of a play off place is still viable for now.
For me, Henderson was clearly MOTM and worked his socks off for the team. Nice to see him take on his man and beat him. Unfortunately Hucks was not at the races and I question whether he has the pace anymore to be be the threat he was 2 seasons back. Theclub should think very seriously about whether he is worth a contract offer at the end of next season. His lack of defensive coverage means he is leaving us exposed on the left flank so if he is not running the oppo defence ragged his contribution is questionable. I would also take any offer around ?2M for Safri in January if Feyanoord were to come in for him. Useful player that he is, he is too injury prone and with 6 week sabbaticals to play for Morocco I question whether we can afford a player whose appearances are so limited. I also expect Green to go in January on the pretext that the ?3M is needed for purchases, Davenport, Wright, Etuhu, Robinson etc. Utter bollox that the club has no money of course but I suspect the club, at the moment, are more interested in debt repayment than they are in a return to the Premiership unless it can be done on the cheap. Ashton won't be going as noone is going to pay ?5M+ for a player not scoring goals. A pity that we are ruining his career by not providing the service he needs but there we are.
