What the f**k is happening to this country?

Two news items I heard on the radio last night just totally turned my stomach.In one,a man dressed up as Father Christmas stabbed a man to death.And in the other one,a gang pulled a pensioner out of his car and ran him over.He later died of his injuries.

I have never heard of two such heinous acts as those,and both within such a short timeframe.And of course the death of the policewoman in the Bradford shooting and the shop assistant at Harvey Nichols.I'm sure there are a lot of other horror stories besides,but I don't even watch the news or read papers any more.

Seriously,what the f**k is going on? Gruesome acts like that used to be "only in America", and other countries.Well not any more,sadly.There was even a man burned alive in Norwich not too long back,as well as other murders.

Would arming the police make things better or worse? Would the threat of capital punishment be any kind of deterrent to would be criminals? If anyone is as desperate and f**ked up enough to perpetrate such despicable acts as these,they obviously have nothing to live for anyway.

There are no easy answers.Only more questions about how much further things can degenerate in this once green and pleasant land.
