I couple of thoughts from today -

Just got back as these posts normally start but via the Kenton Sports Club for a couple of beers before wandering home.

A few thoughts about the game ? agree or disagree as you wish.

1/ Luton ? they were rubbish. Yes, the Doc and Davenport looked good, but they didn?t really threaten our goal seriously until the last ten minutes

2/ The ref ? what the f**k was he on?. A complete prat full of his own self importance. I?d no idea which way he was going to point ? nor did the players whenever he blew his whistle. Awful. Some one should tell him that he?s there for the players benefit.

3/ The new boys (a) Wright impressed me. A bit off the pace at the start but when he got into it he was in the right place defensively, nothing flash, and got forward well. Fab cross for Etuhu who missed a good chance header in the first half. Miles better than the rest of our right back options. Yes I know Flem did some overhead bicycle type clearance which we all cheered, but Wright would have been there and done the simple thing.

3/ The new boys (b) ? Etuhu. Got involved, if you count niggling the oppo. He doesn?t want the ball, unlike Safri. I can see why Preston fans thought he drifted in and out of games, as that what it looked like he did today. He did have a shot from the edge of the box which is am improvement from our other centre midfield players this year. I?ll reserved judgement on him.

4/ Forrest Gump ? Good first goal, stayed wide to give an extra midfield option. Interesting to see that the only time he beat a man was by a block tackle. He?ll soon get sussed out as he hasn?t goal the skill to go past a man out wide.

5/ Hucks. A new man, two headers won and a goal. Gemma was happy with him. Her man of the match which is what my report will say.

And finally ? I had my photo taken with Captain Canary. I have fulfilled an ambition of a lifetime.
