I knew a few of the lads on Sheffield that were killed but not a Graham Bennett.
That's not to say he wasn't among them.
An Exocet missile pierced Sheffield just on the waterline Midships. Rising up through the engine room into the galley smashing through the ceramic tiles and shattering the unbacked formica.
This was the cause of many of the injuries in that area. Including my friend Leading Cook Tony Silence who's legs were severed by jagged formica and ceramic tiles.
Tony later died of his injuries.
I don't wish to disrespect stoopish but to connect a football match with the horrors of war does seem a little bit off to say the least.
Argentina is now a democracy like much of South America and it is right and proper to show disgust to the Facist Dictatorship of 1982.
A football match is a football match and nothing more.
Time for some perspective.
Jack.
