the actual quotes don't really suggest that, do they?

He wants to go 'cos RVW is coming? - But he wants to play in a front 2 (more likely when RVW is here)

He wants to go 'cos his kids have gone up north? - He says outright it's because they don't want the kids moving schools - if he's got a 2 year contract here you'd presume he could see that out (It's not as though footballers don't commute/tend to put down roots elsewhere to where they play cf.Chris Sutton)

He wants to go because he's hinted that he's not happy for the first time? - I'm pretty certain he 'hinted' that he wanted to leave last summer.

I hope we keep him. We need to strengthen the squad and I can't see how losing Holt will help.
