Everyone understands that premier league survival brings more money which brings higher quality players which brings higher likelihood of succeeding in future competitions. They understand that because it is utterly basic and they aren't complete idiots.
They simply disagree that all those things are better than actually winning a major trophy actually right now.
There is no objective right or wrong in this matter, there is simply personal preference.
For what it'a worth, I am in your camp that given the ludicrous, impossible, not even worth f**king debating in the first place, hypothetical situation where I could personally chose, for this season, FA Cup win or staying up, I'd pick staying up and not winning the cup. Give me three or four seasons of watching relegation struggles, occasionally managing the heady heights of midtable, I might well give a different answer.
Honestly, your position of "people miss the point, this is the point" really betrays what looks like a real lack of empathy and emotional intelligence, like so much of the s**t you post on here.
