Dunno whether it works in the uk but in most countries in Europe, Netherlands included, you can unlock your non-jail broken iPhone easily yourself via iTunes. You just change the sim to another provider sim, then plug it into iTunes and you'll be prompted for some info, and iTunes will unlock it for you. Done in 5 mins. And then it is unlocked forever more...
