It is sad, yes, but things are surely changing

Right now, if I were gay and a footballer, I would most assuredly keep it secret. Not just because it would be nobody's business but because football crowds as a vague unidentifiable mass aren't yet evolved enough to be able to deal with it. The Football Fan is changing, though, gradually but definitely.

The problem with acceptance of gayness, I reckon, is that we adults tend to learn our behavioural improvements from our kids, and kids aren't taught to deal with matters of sexuality until they're old enough to be stupid about it. Or are they? I don't know, I've just realised I'm making an assumption there. Sorry.
