Do you remember the week after it came out in the press that Shilton was having an affair? The whole Kop sang "Does your missus know you're here?" at him for about 20 minutes. It put him off. Same way, if a player came out as gay, the crowd would go[effeminate falsetto] "Oooooooooo" at him every time he touched the ball. They just want to get at the player, make him angry, distract him, put him off his game.
