FLEMING ON WOLVES CRITICISM
CLUB captain Craig Fleming had two simple words to answer critics who feared boss Nigel Worthington might have "lost the dressing room" following his harsh words after the Molineux disaster - "absolutely ridiculous".
The central defender watched from the substitutes bench on Saturday as a lacklustre performance saw Wolves coast to their first home win in six games.
After the match Worthington pulled no punches with his comments to the press, branding the performance "spineless" and calling on his players to look up the word honesty in the dictionary.
It was the first time in recent memory the City boss had chosen to lambaste his players so publicly.
But Fleming said he was not surprised by the tone of his manager after the 2-0 defeat left the Canaries looking over their shoulders in the Championship.
"I'm not surprised, to be brutally honest," he told CanariesWorld.
"He's taken a fair bit of stick and I think it's not always down to him.
"Whichever XI is picked, they have got to go out and do it. That's not pointing fingers at anybody, but whoever gets picked for Norwich has got to go out and give it everything they have got."
And what about suggestions Worthy had now lost the support of the players following his post-match outburst?
"It's a ridiculous statement," added the no-nonsense Yorkshireman, who knows all about what real dressing room tension means from his time under other administrations at Carrow Road.
"I've heard rumours and press men say stuff and it's just ridiculous. I've seen it before in my career when things aren't going very well - people point fingers.
"He hasn't lost the dressing room at all. I had that once in my career here a long time ago and it's nothing like that. We are all desperate to do it for ourselves, for him, for the coaches, for the fans - for everyone."
