Indeed...

There was a brief chorus of "On The Ball" to greet the players on the pitch...and a half-hearted "Delia's Barmy Army" second half and that was it.

I sensed that every single person there was as apathetic about the whole situation as I was. None of us were surprised in the slightest when they scored after 70 seconds or so.

It was only when I was driving home, did I start to get really pissed off by it all. A real waste of an afternoon, and glad I only had an hour's drive home.
