is if Worthington walks, as the club doesn't have the sum needed to pay him off if they sack him. Which presents fans with a dilemma. Do they boo him and the team at every opportunity in the hope of him getting the point ? He is without doubt an honorable man and it might eventually work. But that could well destroy any team cohesion left and lead to a desperate relegation battle.
Or is the best way to cheer the current rubbish to the rafters in a sort of ironic way, the team and the manager would then have no excuse and would have to look to their own performances?
The natural reaction will be boo them onto and off the pitch, pausing only to roundly abuse them for the 90 mins in between. I am not so sure about that.
We need a new face, a manager who can work with all the players and quickly bring out the best in them. It will be hard to attract such a manager when the team has lost all support from the fans.
