The choice is....

...... wholesale changes in the playing staff or the manager and his team. As it's not feasible to do the former then the usual remedy is the latter.

Worthy is responsible for most of these players being at the club and if he has, indeed, lost them then his position is no longer tenable. This is not an unusual situation in football, as unpalable as it may be. Let's not forget that managers get paid sums the rest of us can only dream about but the quid-pro-quo is no job security if you fail to deliver. Either way he ends up with his pockets full.

I firmly believe that you dump your manager whilst there is time for a new man to pull things around. Waitingto the end of the season and relegation before swinging the axe is rather like launching the lifeboats after the ship has sunk - pointless! Bob Chase had the balls to axe Ken Brown and this board should acquire some too before the fans are forced to demonstrate on masse to show their feelings.

Sorry, Worthy and thanks for turning the club around 5 years ago and for the Championship campaign but I'm afraid your time is up!.
