This line of attack from the club is patently ridiculous. Any inference that the failings this season have links to a few herberts on message boards is truly scandalous.
All this latest media drive does is draw attention to the fact that both discontent about performance and salacious rumours existed in the first place. Such confrontation merely gives further credibility to the boards and often to those who don't need or deserve it.
The Club would also do well to remember that they will NEVER WIN battles such as these. If supporters are angry or have to something to say that the Club doesn't want said, there is absolutely nothing they can do about it.
Instead of posting anonymously about how great everything really is they should acknowledge that message boards provide a legitimate voice for discontent and that there exists a community who care deeply for the Club. Why not acknowledge those who behave appropriately on forums such as these whilst issuing a gentle admonishment to those who use it for more scurrilous reasons?
Because they will just alienate even more supporters and to be honest they might just as well sit on Cromer beach and try to turn the f**king waves back as try to control message boards.
