Maybe it's not possible to be as a football manager. But when I hear him getting into verbal contortions to justify, for example, the complete lack of a midfield at this club, it doesn't sound like a particularly honest man to me.
Apparently last night two new reasons were put forward for the complete lack of a midfield at the club (after he'd first re-iterated the line that we have a wealth of midfielders at the club).
First, Francis left too late for us to have time to replace him. Which is odd, given that even someone as uninformed as I am knew all summer he as going.
Then he must have been pressed on this, because the next line was that we didn't have any money left to spend on a replacement. I assume no-one then had the chance to ask about the cash we tried to spend on Morrison. (Unless that was all a 'Worthy smokescreen' to help out Bruce - but if so, it hardly furthers his reputation for honesty, does it?)
I think he has lots of qualities. But don't think honesty is particularly close to the top of the list.
