I'm pretty good at wallpaper.

Cut each drop a couple of inches longer than it needs to be. Then, once hanged (is that just people? Hung?) cut with a razor once it's positioned. Use the back of a knife/scissors to score the paper at top and bottom, against whatever it butts up against - skirting or coving - before cutting with the razor.

If the paper says to leave the paste on for a bit before hanging, then do, don't be tempted to cut corners.
