Pinkun technical question

On the front page it promises live deadline day reportage.

So I click on the link and it takes me to User Posted Link

Which is actually a static page with a carefully hidden link which takes you to their actual live reportage.

My question is: what the actual f**k is the point of the middle page? Why doesn't the link on the front page take me directly to User Posted Link

Yes I do appreciate that, technically, that's two questions and that I'm risking unintentional irony. Whatever.
