Don't forget that Lambert

said the reason why he resigned from Colchester was becuase they gave permission for him to speak to Norwich.

Norwich were in a no win situtaion, let Lambert speak to Villa and he resigns (and fans go mad at McNasty for letting Lambert speek to them) or refuse and he resigned anyway for not being allowed to speak to Villa.
