I haven't posted for ages because of lots of things (being executor to uncle's will being the biggest time consumer).
I was just thinking, though, that if anyone was to come out of left field it might be Paulo. He seems to have loads of integrity, as dealing with the mad Romanov might well require, not to mention patience and and ability to be phlegmatic. He's bought in, absolutely, to the Jambo experience. Not as well supported as City but what's there is intensely passionate and he seems to love that. He calls himself a Jambo in his stuttering but well considered English.
He is undoubtedly being pissed about by Romanov et al and he would probably jump at the chance of coming here. He'd bring his Portuguese coaches with him but, crucially, he kept on Gary Locke to help him assimilate into Scottish football and Jambo land. Locke is about as died in the wool a Jambo as it is possible to be and my guess is that he'd want a similar figure here, hard to say who.
I must say my shortlist is two - Hughton and Poyet in that order, but Paulo Sergio has overcome a hell of a lot in the time he's been at Tynecastle and just imagine how it feels to have humped the Hibbees 5-1 in the Scottish Cup Final. Beating the Scum 5-1 at Portaloo Road was right up there - imagine doing it in the cup final and what you'd think of a manager who achieved that. So if we can't get Hughton or Poyet, Sergio ought to be in the reckoning.
