Rooney or Tevez ca strike on 200k a week but even then Tevez was forced into a humilliating climbdown. Its only when a player like Barton gets an obscene contract at a club that cant afford it that he could strike.
Holt being paid but not playing would hurt us a little but him much much more. He has no chips unless someone offers 10million.
Lambert has been foolish too. Agian if our compo is as low as rumoured I'd simply let him sit the year out. He'd then be lucky to get another job better than us.
Have to say deeply disappointed in them both. I'd have wished Lambert well at Liverpool but to leave for Villa suggests that for him it really is money.
As for Holt given his career I understand him wanting a decent contract but put simply this lacks class.
Its so sad that having become so disillusioned with football after the roedent fiasco I fell in love with it again tnaks to these 2. Holt's story couldve been a comic book. When he's 60 and log retired he couldve still been THE GUY everyone talked about in Norwich. Now he'll probably end up as a the guy that outdid Damien Francis and that truly saddens me.
