Lambert's Dilemma.

When Mark Hughes walked out on Fulham it was very much the same type of situation.

It would be almost impossible for Paul Lambert to duplicate the success (12th place) next season given our finances compared to those in the division.
We just cannot compete with the top 8 teams.
Its amazing we have competed with the mid-table PL teams!

In reality if Lambert was offered the Liverpool job it would have been a super easy decision as they can compete with the top teams, they have European football lined up.

Aston Villa just doesn't make too much sense....... yet in some ways staying at Norwich is also probably a lose/lose situation.

I just don't see what Villa offers Lambert that Norwich does except a huge challenge which might appeal to him.

Its a bigger club than us but all that means is slightly higher up mid-table in all reality.
Maybe their potential is bigger than ours but they are a proven selling club over the past 2 seasons having a NET transfer spend of -21 million compared to Norwich who have a +13 million NET transfer spend.
If Lambert is anything like his mentor MON he will go on extreme benny monkey tilt when his best players are constantly sold to the top 6 clubs.
